Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), established in Bhagalpur, Bihar, is one of the premier universities in the state, committed to the advancement of higher education in the region. The university is named after Tilka Manjhi, the first freedom fighter of India.

J.P. College, Narayanpur is one of 29 constituent units of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur. After its establishment on 01st August 1952, the college received constituent status under TMBU on 01/04/1975.

J.P. College received recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(F) on 22/03/1983. The college is recognized by the Government of Bihar. The college follows all academic regulations, examination schedules and curricular frameworks prescribed by TMBU.
